Infiniti FX45

The FX45 is a midsize SUV offered in one trim level (AWD). The long standard features list is highlighted by full leather seating and trim, power eight-way driver and front-passenger seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, HID headlights, 20-inch aluminum wheels and an in-dash six-disc CD changer.

For additional features on the Infiniti FX45, there are two significant options packages. The Premium Package adds a sunroof, a Bose 300-watt audio system, steering wheel audio controls, auto headlights and a programmable HomeLink remote transmitter.

The Technology Package augments the equipment in the Premium Package with a DVD navigation system, intelligent keyless entry that uses electronic signals instead of a conventional keyless remote, a DVD entertainment system, radar cruise control, a rearview backup camera and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

The FX45 is equipped with a standard 4.5-liter, V8, 315-horsepower engine that achieves 15-mpg in the city and 19-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

The FX45′s face is big and brash. A broad, flat front end flanked by big fenders give it a square-jawed look, and the front aspect is dominated by a cool grille that looks almost like a set of chrome Venetian blinds. It’s a big vehicle, but the FX45′s intimidation factor creeps up on you thanks to the svelte curves front to rear. The hood bulges upward at the fenders (and looks cool from the driver’s seat) and the truck has a feline look, with squat rear haunches, a graceful descending roofline, and blocky taillamps. Roof rails are optional. The FX45 looks like it would be hard to see out of, but we didn’t have any visibility problems.
