Maruti SX4 was introduced by Suzuki Japan in India in 2007 May. So far only the petrol variants of Maruti SX4 were available in India. Now the company is planning to launch a Maruti Suzuki SX4 diesel variant.

It is expected that the diesel variant launch will take place in 2011 Feb 17 and its cost will be somewhere between 7 and 8 lacs.

Maruti SX4 is manufactured by Suzuki Japan and sold by both Suzuki and Fiat. However, Fiat brand sells this model in the name of Fiat Sedici.

Maruti SX4 Diesel variant is equipped with DDiS 1.3 Liter diesel engine with Variable Geometry Turbocharged (VGT) that has the capacity to churn out maximum power of 90 bhp at the rate of 4000 rpm.

The specs of this variant are quite similar to the specs of Fiat Linea and Tata Indigo Manza but the SX4 comes with the reduced weight of 70 kgs as compared to above mentioned models that results uniform acceleration, which in turn gives better fuel economy.
Maruti SX4 Diesel delivers fine power with enhanced performance. The engine is smaller, more compact and 70 KG lighter compared to its counterparts that result in delivering better fuel efficient with decreased emission. It has a displacement of 1298 cc engine containing MPFI ignition system. The brakes, transmissions and suspensions are developed in Europe but they are fine-tuned to suit the requirements of Indian roads. is With minimum turning radius of 5.3 meters, the sedan provides very easy to drive on narrow roads.
